Blending Grey Hair in Sarasota FL

Gray blending is a tailored color service that softens the line between your natural gray roots and previously colored ends. Instead of covering your grays every few weeks, this approach helps create a more seamless grow-out, with less maintenance and more flexibility.

Whether you're just starting to see gray or you’ve been coloring for years, this process can help make the transition smoother and more flattering to your features and personal style.

The Process

All gray blending services start with start with photos via text to assess your starting point. Then a consultation and required test strand. We’ll schedule a quick 15–20 minute consult in person. we’ll

During the test strand appointment, I’ll take a tiny section of hair from the back (where you won’t miss it), process it with lightener for a few hours, and assess your hair’s strength and response. This step is important to make sure the full service will be safe and effective.

If everything looks good, we’ll schedule your gray blending session. At your appointment, I use a custom combination of:

- Highlights and lowlights

- Balayage for added softness (when needed)

- Fully customized color and foil placement

- Demi-permanent color at the roots (if needed)

- Bond builders like Olaplex No. 1

- For clients whose hair isn’t ready for lightening yet, I offer an alternative gray blending option using demi-permanent root color while we repair and the heal hair with Bond Building and Moisturizing treatments.

Timing & Expectations

The first gray blending session usually takes 5-8 hours. It’s a very detailed, customized process—especially when we’re matching grays with multiple levels of existing color or previous color banding.

Most people will need a few follow-up sessions over time, especially within the first year, to continue refining the blend as your hair grows out.

Pricing

Gray blending services typically start at $400. Depending on your hair’s length, density, and the complexity of the color process, most appointments average between $400–500, though in some cases it may be more. Since every head of hair is completely unique, I’ll provide a more accurate quote during your initial consultation.

Maintenance

Once your blend is established, you’ll likely only need occasional toner appointments (under $100) to keep things fresh. No more every-three-week root touch-ups. Just schedule when your ends start to look too warm or when you want a refresh.

And these maintenance appointments will only be a necessity for the first one or two years.
